The Incas Long Lived

In my study of the ancient South American civilization and customs of the Incas, I have written an in-depth exploration of the social, political, technological and environmental practices that separated them from other cultures.  Through their range of customs, the Incas seamlessly connected their society to the textile traditions they established throughout their history.  In my research, I examined how the political dynamics affected the society of the common Inca, which ultimately influenced cultural adaptations to their religious and social practices.  It was through their accepted religious and societal practices that the style and tradition of Inca costume was developed.  From there, I was able to find and gain a more profound understanding of the Incan culture, their traditions and history and discover that their influences continue to exist to this day.

This is a product in which I used the Incas and my as inspiration to design a men’s and woman’s outerwear set.

The Legacy of Lady Duff

This research encompasses the changing time period, art, and technology of the turn of the 1800’s. I have written an in-depth assessment of the political atmosphere as it pertains to World War 1 and woman's fashion. I analyze Lady Duff’s need to radically speak against the propaganda presented by the president of the time. Not only that, but I discuss Duff’s beginnings for inventing her own vehicle of promotion which would become what we know to be the traditional runway show. I also give a detailed look at Duff’s time on the Titanic as well as conduct an interview from a Titanic Enthusiast. Through Duff’s many iconic designs, messages, and ideas, I examine how they have affected fashion at the time and beyond.

Fitting CLO

The objective with this work, was to create a piece of clothing for a specific target market or body type using CLO. CLO is a digital program used for patternmaking that contains features with the function to properly fit and adjust pattern pieces and garments, accurately and virtually. For this piece of work, I designed a woman's rugby jersey. I’ve been playing rugby for four years and having been a part of this community, I've witnessed a lot of issues firsthand. Often times, our uniforms don’t fit or fit awkwardly and when we compete, we wear men's jerseys. I think women in the sport of rugby are overlooked and this is an untapped market.

This is the final product showcased in the CLO digital program.

The Textile and the Waste

Provided here is an in-depth examination of systemic habits of consumers rooting from the practices of large corporations. This is written in the argumentative form to break down the details relating to cause, challenges, and trends with the intent to assess the entire problem with minimal bias.
